*The Kentucky Broadcasters Association bestows awards to deserving individuals and stations in the broadcast field on an annual basis.

Nominations for an award may be made by any member station and the awards committee. 
Self –nominations  are also accepted.   DEADLINE for the nominations is September 14, 2007.

Al Temple Award - The Al Temple Award is presented only to those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Kentucky Broadcasters Association over an extended period of time and need not be presented on a regular basis.  The award is named in honor of the extraordinary service of Al Temple a pioneer secretary-treasurer of the KBA.  Past Recipients

Kentucky Mike Award - The Kentucky Mike Award is to be presented to those individuals who have made outstanding personal contribution to the broadcasting profession in Kentucky.  This award is presented only when contributions are deemed worthy of this high honor and need not be presented every year. Past Recipients

J. T. Whitlock Life Member Award - This award is to be presented to members retiring or leaving the profession permanently who have earned perpetual membership as a result of their contributions as members of the Association.  Participation in conventions shall be at no cost to life member or spouse.  The award is named in honor of a life of service by J. T. Whitlock, long-time KBA executive secretary-treasurer.  Past Recipients

Ralph Gabbard-Distinguished Kentuckian Award - The Distinguished Kentuckian Award is to be given to present or former Kentuckians who have earned fame or acclaim in their field of endeavor, in recognition of the value of those achievements to the state and nation.  This award is named in honor of distinguished television broadcaster and former KBA Chairman Ralph, Gabbard.
