| 2012 SWEET 16 RADIO NETWORK - INFORMATION & AGREEMENT | |||||||
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association is putting together the 2012 Sweet 16 Radio Network. Again this year participating stations can broadcast all or selected games of the boys and girls state high school championship tournaments. There is no broadcast fee. Click on the following link for dates, times and other information and for the affiliate agreement. The agreement must be returned by Monday, February 27 and can be emailed, mailed or faxed. seminar on License Renewal, Political Advertising and EEO Regulations with Dawn Sciarrino for

Radio Renewals, EEO Audits, national and state elections – all in 2012! Dawn Sciarrino, KBA Legal Counsel, will conduct three seminars (stay for one, two or all three) covering what you need to know to be prepared for the License Renewal cycle, stay up to date on EEO requirements, and handle those crazy campaign ads! This seminar will be held at the KBA headquarters in Frankfort and also available via streaming on the internet. 9 - 10: Radio Renewal Registrations can be made by calling the KBA - 1-888-843-5221 ext 1 or by e-mailing kba@kba.org - indicate the number of people attending or viewing the streaming. | FCC LICENSE RENEWAL INFORMATION | |||||||
This is to remind you that applications to renew the FCC licenses for radio stations in Kentucky (AM, FM, NCE FM, FM Translator and LPFM) must be filed no later than Monday, April 2, 2012. Guidance regarding the renewal process can be found at the FCC's website, at http://www.fcc.gov/guides/license-renewal-applications-radio-broadcast-stations You must begin airing pre-filing announcements on February 1, 2012. The schedule for broadcasting the announcements, as well as the required text, can be found using the link above, or you can go directly to the pertinent portion of the guide by using the following: http://www.fcc.gov/guides/license-renewal-applications-radio-broadcast-stations#PREFILING. In addition, all AM, FM and NCE FM licensees must file an FCC Form 396 (Broadcast Equal Employment Opportunity Program Report) at or shortly before the time of filing the renewal application (FCC Form 303-S). The Form 396 must be filed prior to submitting the renewal application; it will be assigned a file number that must be included on the Form 303-S. Additionally, non-commercial licensees must submit their Ownership Reports (Form 323-E) at the time of filing for renewal. The renewal application, the Form 396 and, if applicable, the Form 323-E must all be filed electronically. Links to the CDBS login page and other useful information about CDBS filings (including a link to a list of Media Bureau Forms, with pdf copies of the Forms and instructions) can be accessed from the following link: http://www.fcc.gov/encyclopedia/media-bureau-filing-systems-and-databases. | KBA TO MEET WITH CONGRESSMAN ROGERS | |||||||
The KBA has scheduled a meeting with Congressman Harold Rogers in his Somerset officenext week on Friday, February 10th (Friday) at 2:30P (eastern). This will be an opportunity to discuss with him issues in Washington, D.C. affecting broadcasters. All broadcasters in and serving the 5th congressional district are invited to attend.
